Route: Innsbruck Airport (INN) → Mathon, Ischgl
From Innsbruck Airport to Mathon
The journey follows the Inn Valley west towards Landeck. Near Pians, it enters the Paznaun Valley and follows the B188 through See, Kappl and central Ischgl before continuing to Mathon. It covers approximately 105 kilometres and normally takes around 90 minutes in suitable traffic and weather conditions.
Traffic west of Innsbruck, congestion around Landeck and Pians, winter conditions, events in Ischgl and the exact accommodation address can affect the journey. Your driver continues to the complete accessible address rather than stopping at a public bus stop.
Mathon is not central Ischgl
Mathon belongs to the municipality and holiday region of Ischgl, but it lies beyond the village centre in the direction of Galtür. Accommodation advertised as Ischgl-Mathon can be several kilometres beyond the central cable-car stations. Book Mathon, Ischgl when the postal address is physically in Mathon, and book Ischgl for accommodation in the centre.
Why accommodation is advertised as Ischgl-Mathon
Guests in Mathon use the wider Ischgl/Samnaun ski region, so accommodation may be described as Ischgl-Mathon, Mathon near Ischgl or accommodation in Ischgl. Check for postcode 6562, Mathoner Straße or another explicit Mathon reference. Marketing names do not replace the actual airport-transfer endpoint.
Door-to-door transfers throughout Mathon
Hotels, apartments and holiday homes are located near the B188 and along smaller local roads. Provide the complete property name, street, house number, postcode and a reachable mobile number. The full address allows the correct route, price, accessible drop-off and return pickup to be planned.
Mathon, Valzur and Galtür are different drop-off areas
Mathon lies after central Ischgl and before Galtür. Valzur is further along the valley and Galtür is a separate municipality. Select the actual location rather than assuming that one general Ischgl booking covers every property between Ischgl and Galtür.
Winter transfers and Ischgl events
Winter Saturdays, school holidays and major Ischgl events can cause congestion on the A12, around Landeck and Pians, through See and Kappl, in central Ischgl and on the final section to Mathon. Snowfall, reduced visibility and winter maintenance may also increase the journey time.
Summer transfers
Mathon is also a base for hiking, cycling and quieter summer holidays in upper Paznaun. Holiday traffic, roadworks, events and cyclists can affect the journey. Declare bicycles and large outdoor equipment during booking.
The Silvretta High Alpine Road is not required
The normal transfer approaches Mathon from Landeck through Pians and Ischgl. It does not require the Silvretta High Alpine Road. That pass road is closed in winter, but normal access from Innsbruck remains available through the B188.
Pickup at Innsbruck Airport
After collecting your luggage, meet your driver in the public arrivals hall. The driver holds a sign displaying your name. We monitor the supplied flight number and adjust the pickup if your flight is delayed.
Provide the correct flight number, a reachable mobile number, complete passenger, luggage and equipment details, and the exact Mathon address. Contact AlpExpress if the flight is cancelled, diverted or assigned a different number.
Skis, luggage and children
We do not charge a separate fee for declared skis or snowboards. Declare suitcases, ski and boot bags, cross-country skis, bicycles, pushchairs, mobility equipment and oversized items so that a suitable vehicle can be assigned.
Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are available free of charge when requested in advance. Provide each child's age during booking.
Returning from Mathon to Innsbruck Airport
Return pickup planning should account for the exact address, local roads back to the B188, traffic through Ischgl, Kappl and See, congestion around Pians and Landeck, motorway conditions, winter weather, event traffic and airline check-in requirements. Extra time may be appropriate on winter Saturdays, event weekends and after snowfall.
