Does the transfer use the Arlberg Road Tunnel?

Normally no. The usual route leaves the S16 near St. Anton and continues over the Arlberg Pass to the Flexen road. The road tunnel leads west into the Klostertal. Current closures, official diversions or traffic conditions may require a different route.

Winter access via the Flexen road

The Flexen road is the principal winter connection to Zürs. Snowfall, reduced visibility, maintenance or temporary traffic measures can require slower driving or an official diversion. This permanent page deliberately avoids fixed closure dates; the driver considers the current conditions.

Zürs is reached before Lech. Oberlech has a special winter arrival process, while Stuben and St. Christoph are different Arlberg destinations. A regional name cannot replace the accommodation's postal address.

Private transfer or train and bus?

Zürs has no railway station. Public transport normally means travelling to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, taking a train to Langen am Arlberg or St. Anton and continuing by bus or taxi. A private transfer avoids several changes and repeated luggage handling.

Why the exact hotel address matters in Zürs

Zürs is compact, but its hotels do not all use the same access point. The property name, street, house number and postcode determine whether the final journey ends beside Flexen road or follows a smaller and possibly steep hotel access road. The same details are required for a punctual return pickup.

A regional description such as “Lech Zürs” is not sufficient. If the accommodation is physically in Lech, use the Innsbruck Airport to Lech transfer. Oberlech has a different winter arrival process again.

Langen or St. Anton for public transport?

Zürs has no railway station. Langen am Arlberg is closer on the Vorarlberg side, followed by a regional bus or taxi. St. Anton lies on the Tyrolean side and may provide the more suitable train connection on a particular timetable. Both options require travel from the airport to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, a train and another road connection.

This can work well for one traveller with limited luggage. A private transfer avoids these changes for families, groups, ski bags and late arrivals.

Returning from Zürs to Innsbruck Airport

The return journey begins on Flexen road and the Arlberg Pass before reaching the S16 and A12. A delay on the first mountain section cannot reliably be recovered later. Pickup planning must therefore include hotel access, winter conditions, holiday traffic, airline check-in and airport security.

A larger buffer may be appropriate on winter Saturdays, during heavy snowfall or announced safety work. Provide the flight departure time; it is not the time at which you should arrive at the airport.

Summer transfers to Zürs

Zürs is much quieter in summer and not every property remains open. The normal approach via the Arlberg Pass and Flexen road remains available but may be affected by roadworks, visitor traffic and cyclists. Confirm the opening status and exact address of the accommodation before booking.

Travelling to Zürs with children

Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are free when requested in advance. Provide each child's age and declare additional items such as a pushchair or travel cot. On the longer winter journey, suitable vehicle and seat planning matters more than passenger count alone.
