Route: Innsbruck Airport (INN) → Galtür
From Innsbruck Airport to Galtür
The journey follows the Inn Valley west towards Landeck. Near Pians, it enters the Paznaun Valley and follows the B188 through See, Kappl, Ischgl and Mathon before reaching Galtür. It covers approximately 110 kilometres and normally takes around 85 minutes in suitable traffic and weather conditions.
Galtür is the last of the four main Paznaun holiday villages when travelling from Innsbruck. Delays around Landeck, Pians or the earlier villages can therefore affect the complete journey. Your driver continues to the complete accessible address in your booking rather than stopping at the village entrance or a bus stop.
Door-to-door transfers throughout Galtür
Accommodation is distributed across central Galtür, Tschafein, Außertschafein, Maißle, Lochmühl, Wirl and other parts of the municipality. Provide the complete accommodation name, district or street, house number, postcode and a reachable telephone number.
Galtür village and Wirl are different drop-off points
Wirl lies west of central Galtür and contains important access points to the Silvapark ski area. An address in Wirl requires additional travel beyond the village centre. The complete address allows the correct route, price and return pickup to be planned.
Winter transfers
Winter Saturdays and holiday changeovers can cause congestion on the A12, around Landeck and Pians, throughout Paznaun and on the final road to Galtür. Snowfall, reduced visibility and winter maintenance may increase the journey time even when the road remains open.
The Silvretta High Alpine Road
The normal airport transfer reaches Galtür from Landeck through Paznaun and does not require the Silvretta High Alpine Road. That road is closed during winter, but this does not prevent normal access from Innsbruck. Seasonal closures or restrictions can also apply in summer.
Summer transfers
Galtür is also a destination for hiking, cycling, climbing and family mountain holidays. Holiday traffic, roadworks, events and cyclists can affect the journey. Declare bicycles and large outdoor equipment during booking.
Pickup at Innsbruck Airport
After collecting your luggage, meet your driver in the public arrivals hall. The driver holds a sign displaying your name. We monitor the supplied flight number and adjust the pickup if your flight is delayed.
Provide the correct flight number, a reachable mobile number, all passenger, luggage and equipment details, and the exact accommodation address. Contact AlpExpress if the flight is cancelled, diverted or assigned a different number.
Skis, luggage and children
We do not charge a separate fee for declared skis or snowboards. Declare suitcases, ski and boot bags, cross-country skis, bicycles, pushchairs, mobility equipment and oversized items so that a suitable vehicle can be assigned.
Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are available free of charge when requested in advance. Provide each child's age during booking.
Galtür, Mathon and Ischgl are separate destinations
When travelling from Innsbruck, the order is Ischgl, Mathon and Galtür. Choose Galtür for accommodation in Galtür, Tschafein or Wirl. Choose the actual neighbouring destination when the property is in Mathon or Ischgl because route, journey time and price differ.
Returning from Galtür to Innsbruck Airport
Return pickup planning should account for the exact accommodation location, travel from Wirl or local roads to the B188, traffic through Mathon, Ischgl, Kappl and See, congestion around Pians and Landeck, motorway conditions, winter weather and airline check-in requirements. Extra time may be appropriate on winter Saturdays, during school holidays and after snowfall.
